                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Mitchell missed the first half of the 2024 season while completing his recovery from a knee injury, and once he did join the Ravens' backfield, there was little work for him behind workhorse Derrick Henry. Mitchell didn't get a carry until Week 17, and he wasn't used on offense at all during Baltimore's playoff run. He did show flashes of his big-play potential as a kick returner and receiver however, and should the 31-year-old Henry begin to break down in 2025, Mitchell might be better positioned than Justice Hill or Rasheen Ali to step into the lead role. Shows explosiveness in win
Mitchell had four carries for 43 yards on seven snaps in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Bears.
				ANALYSIS
The third-year back was more involved in the offense in the first game coming out of a bye week, and he showed the burst that was his calling card before he suffered a season-ending ACL tear as a rookie in 2023. Mitchell peeled off a 25-yard run in the third quarter that helped set up a field goal to put the Ravens up by two scores. He was also effective on special teams with 66 yards on two kickoff returns. Seven snaps is not enough to get Mitchell on the radar in redraft leagues just yet, but his usage is worth monitoring going forward.

This Week's Opposing Pass Defense

How does the Dolphins pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?

The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. The list of players in the table only includes defenders with at least 3 attempts against them.

				2023
Few players' 2023 seasons were as anguishing to witness as Mitchell's, because the feel-good story of the undersized, undrafted speed demon who rose to improbable stardom gave way to the story of Mitchell's gruesome, season-ending knee injury. Although reported as a mere ACL tear, Mitchell's injury looked much worse than that and may ultimately be revealed to have entailed additional damage. The timing of the injury (Dec. 17) presents him with a challenge to be ready for Week 1, and even if that happens he'll just be a change-of-pace runner behind offseason addition Derrick Henry.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
    Renewed burst this offseason
Mitchell, who appeared in only five regular-season games in 2024 after overcoming a serious knee injury suffered in his rookie 2023 campaign, appears to have regained his burst this offseason, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
				ANALYSIS
Mitchell offered plenty of encouraging glimpses as an undrafted rookie in 2023, averaging a jaw-dropping 8.4 yards per carry on his 47 rush attempts across eight regular-season games. However, the East Carolina product suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 of that season, and he wasn't quite himself upon returning in Week 10 of the 2024 campaign. Zrebiec notes Mitchell seems to be back to full health again this offseason, however, as the running back looked "quicker and more assertive" over the last few weeks of the Ravens' offseason activities.
