He spent the entire 2024 season on the Colts' practice squad but hasn't seen regular-season action since 2023 with Indianapolis, when he caught three passes (on eight targets) for 56 yards and a touchdown across seven games.

Montgomery could see an increased snap count as the third wideout behind Alec Pierce and Josh Downs after Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reported Saturday that Michael Pittman experienced additional concussion symptoms and was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Montgomery was thrust into a more prominent role in the Colts' Week 15 win over the Steelers after Pittman was taken out of the game following a hit to the head by safety Damonte Kazee. Montgomery had spent the previous three games solely on special teams but played 41 offensive snaps and finished with two catches on four targets for 48 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass from Gardner Minshew. Montgomery previously spent most of the season on the Colts' practice squad and was signed to the team's 53-man roster Dec. 14.
