                    2025 Fantasy Outlook

Cherki joined City from Lyon this summer in a move that has much of Europe talking about the possibilities, linking an already prolific goal scorer and ball distributor with an already loaded squad. He expects to take some of the Kevin De Bruyne role, but it's almost impossible to be that direct of a replacement. He recorded 31 goal contributions between Europa League and Ligue 1 play last season and his creative numbers have been compared to the best in Europe. The biggest question in his first season will be if the minutes are consistently available to him. City are deep at every position if everyone stays healthy, and there's no guarantee frequent starts will be available for Cherki.

                  Scores against Swansea
Cherki scored one goal on five shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Swansea City.
                  ANALYSIS
Cherki was back in the starting XI for the first time since returning from injury when facing Swansea on Wednesday, playing the full 90 while bagging a late extra-time goal. After only playing the first two games of the season before his injury, this appears to finally clear him up for starting time moving forward, a role he held once before his absence. The French attacker should continue this trend and push for starting time moving forward, although he will have to compete with Phil Foden for time, both playing centrally in an advanced position this campaign.

                  Won't play Wednesday
Cherki (quadriceps) is out for Wednesday's match against Monaco after missing the squad list for the outing. According to manager Pep Guardiola, "I don't want to take a risk... I'd rather have two weeks [for him] to fully recover; training alone, training with the EDS, with the team and he'll be ready."

                  Lyon reject initial approach
Lyon have rejected Manchester City's offer for Cherki, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Deutschland.
                  ANALYSIS
Cherki is one of the top targets for Manchester City this summer, and the Citizens are looking to complete a move for the French star before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup. For that to happen, though, City must deliver a better offer since Lyon aren't likely to part ways with their star playmaker easily. Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
