                                        2025 Fantasy Outlook

Wharton went from the Championship to the Premier League in February 2024 and has already established himself as one of the best in the country at 21 years old. The midfielder doesn't have a lot of offensive upside in this Palace system, but when fit he's a constant in the starting XI, cycling possession and occasionally taking set pieces. Wharton struggled with a hip injury throughout last season, but he got a surgery to hopefully correct the issue permanently. If he can put together a fully healthy season, Wharton would be in line for regular starts with more appearances on the scoresheet a likelihood after compiling 13 shots and 26 chances in 20 appearances (16 starts) last season.

                  Ruled out vs. Brentford
Wharton won't be available for Saturday's game against Brentford due to an illness, manager Olivier Glasner told media during Friday's pre-match press conference. "We will miss Adam [Wharton] again, he is ill. He is getting better, but we won't and can't take any risks."
                  ANALYSIS
The midfielder is dealing with an illness and won't be available for this contest, leaving the team's midfield depth a bit thin. Glasner said that Wharton could be available to face AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, though. Jefferson Lerma could move into the starting lineup to replace Wharton.

Wharton (groin) will be sidelined for Saturday's match against Sunderland but is expected to return later this month, manager Oliver Glasner told media during his pre-match press conference Friday. "At the moment it looks like [Adam] Wharton, [Ismaïla] Sarr and [Eddie] Nketiah are available at least against Liverpool, so in two weeks. That's a great job from our medical department. Top target at Old Trafford?
Manchester United have identified Wharton as a specific target to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2026/27 season, according to TALKSport.
                  ANALYSIS
Manchester United could sign up to two midfielders in the summer of 2026. Wharton is believed to be in a specific six-player shortlist that also includes the likes of Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Andrey Santos, Conor Gallagher and Angelo Stiller. Other top clubs in the Premier League have also shown interest in signing Wharton, so Manchester United won't have it easy if they engage in a bidding war for the services of the 21-year-old.
