                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Aho fell one tally shy of reaching the 30-goal mark for the fourth straight campaign and sixth time in his career last year, but few will complain about his 2024-25 regular season finish of 74 points in 79 appearances. However, his decline in terms of goals is slightly worrying. At first glance, one could write it off as bad luck since his 14.0 shooting percentage last season was notably below his average of 16.9 from 2019-20 through 2023-24. However, the number of high-danger shots he took in 2024-25 was 45, down from his average of 87 across the previous three seasons, per NHL Edge, despite his total shots on goal remaining relatively static. The quality of his positioning for shots seems to have declined, and unless that changes, his 2024-25 drop in goals will likely be the new norm. However, another 70-80 point campaign is a reasonable expectation. Read Past Outlooks

Extends point streak to eight games
Aho scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Stars.
				  ANALYSIS
Aho has scored in three straight games, and he's yet to miss the scoresheet through eight contests this season. The 28-year-old is at four goals, six assists, 19 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-2 rating. There aren't many forwards more consistent than Aho, and his early chemistry with Nikolaj Ehlers and Seth Jarvis has been a bright spot for the injury-riddled Hurricanes.

Aho produced 36 goals for a second consecutive season and generated a career-high 89 points over 78 games in 2023-24. He registered a personal best of 32 power-play points, which more than doubled his output from the 2022-23 campaign. Aho also topped 200 shots on goal for the seventh time in eight seasons. He also set new career highs with 571 faceoff wins, a 54.1 faceoff win percentage and a plus-34 rating. Aho should be able to hit the 80-point plateau for the fourth time in his career in 2024-25.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Might sit Tuesday
Aho wasn't on the ice for Tuesday's game-day skate, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports, indicating he'll be rested for the season finale against Columbus.
				  ANALYSIS
Aho hasn't missed a contest since a three-game absence in the second week of the season back in October. As such, it shouldn't come as a huge surprise to see him getting the night off ahead of a meaningless season-finale clash with Columbus. If Aho does sit out, it appears Jack Drury could move into a first-line role.
