Denver re-signed Humphrey on Thursday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Humphrey kicked off the 2025 campaign wearing a Giants uniform, but he was poached off New York's practice squad by the Broncos in advance of a Week 11 game against Kansas City and provided the team with depth at wideout behind Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant and Marvin Mims down the stretch. Now, heading into his age-28 season, Humphrey appears positioned to reprise a similar reserve role.

Humphrey logged a career-high 31 catches and 293 yards over 17 regular-season games with the Broncos last year before signing with New York in the offseason. He has some experience working with new Giants QB Russell Wilson when they were both with Denver in 2023, though Humphrey had a minor role in the Broncos offense, as he has throughout his career. With the Giants, the 27-year-old likely will be battling for a depth role among the team's WR corps.
Humphrey inked a one-year deal this offseason to remain in Denver for the 2024 campaign. The veteran wideout appeared in all 17 games in 2023, totaling 13 receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Humphrey's three scores were tied for the third-most of any Broncos pass catcher, yet he wasn't a huge part of Denver's scheme in Sean Payton's first year as head coach. With Jerry Jeudy being traded to Cleveland this offseason, Humphrey could climb up the depth chart. The sixth-year receiver should compete for a spot behind likely starters Courtland Sutton, Josh Reynolds, and Marvin Mims.
Humphrey signed with the Broncos this offseason after splitting his time in the 2022 campaign between New England's practice squad and active roster. The 25-year-old wideout will now compete for a depth role in Denver as he joins his former coach Sean Payton, whom he played for in New Orleans from 2019-2021. Humphrey's familiarity with Payton's system could help him to secure a spot on the roster, but he'd likely face an uphill battle for playing time behind Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims and Marquez Callaway.
In 10 games with the Saints last season, Humphrey hauled in 13 of his 18 targets for 249 yards and two TDs. The 6-4, 225-pounder will look to make the Patriots' roster as a depth option, but heading into training camp, the 24-year-old is clearly behind DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor on the team's wideout depth chart, plus rookie second-rounder Tyquan Thornton seems destined to secure a roster spot. With that in mind, it will take a break or two in his favor in advance of Week 1 in order for Humphrey to stick.
After going undrafted out of Texas in 2019, Humphrey has done well to stick around in New Orleans for the past two years. While he's only seen 118 offensive snaps over that time, there's an opportunity for him to significantly add to that total with Michael Thomas set to miss the first few games of the upcoming season while recovering from ankle surgery.

ANALYSIS
Humphrey started the regular season on the Giants' practice squad and was elevated for three games from Weeks 6 to 8 before being signed to the Broncos' active roster in mid-November. He saw an expanded role in the Broncos' offense against the Raiders in Week 14, when he played 28 offensive snaps and hauled in all three of his targets for 27 yards. With Bryant ruled out for Week 15 due to a hamstring injury, Humphrey will likely be utilized in two- and three-wideout sets alongside Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin, especially on designed run plays as a blocker.
