2026 Fantasy Outlook
Sutton is coming off three straight seasons with 12+ PPR points per game and 16+ games played, but his 2025 campaign (74-1,017-7 on 124 targets) was a mild disappointment on the heels of a huge finish to 2024. While still worth starting in most fantasy leagues last year, Sutton wasn't a true difference-maker, ranking 20th among WRs with 12.8 PPR points per game (down from 14.3 ppg in 2024). Now entering his age-30/31 season, Sutton faces increased target competition after Denver traded for WR Jaylen Waddle in March. The Broncos also have strong depth at wide receiver, with Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims expected to compete for the third and fourth spots. Sutton still profiles as the top red-zone threat, and thus a beneficiary if Sean Payton's vision for the offense works out. The concern for fantasy, besides age-related decline, is that Payton's vision for his 2026 offense entails fewer targets for Sutton outside of the red zone. Read Past Outlooks

Could draw more 1-on-1 matchups
Sutton could benefit from more one-on-one matchups during the upcoming season following Denver's acquisition of Jaylen Waddle, Susanna Weir of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Waddle has averaged 77.5 catches for 1,049 yards and 7.5 touchdowns over the past two seasons as the Broncos' No. 1 wideout, and the team gave its WR room a dramatic new look in mid-March by dealing for Waddle. While the trade on one hand means Sutton is more of a 1A in the pecking order alongside Waddle, it may also mean the former will have more open looks with opposing defenses needing to focus heavy attention on Waddle. It remains to be seen how exactly the Broncos' offense will adjust to Waddle's presence, but with QB Bo Nix (ankle) expected to be good to go for the start of training camp and coming off a 2025 regular season during which he threw the most passes in the NFL, there should be adequate targets for both Sutton and Waddle to put up lofty receiving numbers.

Sutton had a breakthrough of sorts in 2023 with 10 TDs (on 90 targets) after scoring 14 times in his first 65 career games, only it didn't seem to carry over to 2024 as his first seven games featured just 277 yards and two TDs. He bottomed out with a zero-target game Week 7 at New Orleans, but somehow that became a launch point for the most productive stretch of his career. Sutton bounced back with consecutive 100-yard performances Weeks 8-9 and recorded at least 10 PPR points and six targets in each subsequent game, averaging 6.0 catches for 80.4 yards and 0.6 TDs on 8.8 targets over his final 10 games of the regular season. That's WR1 fantasy production, buoyed by Bo Nix's rapid progress (after a poor September) and Sean Payton's commitment to getting Sutton the ball. The 6-foot-4 wideout finally looked like the same player we'd seen prior to his ACL tear in Sept. 2020, topping 1,000 yards for the first time since 2019. Sutton will turn 30 in October and was never a burner even pre-surgery, but he's more agile than most other big WRs and highly adept at finding holes in zone coverages or outmuscling defenders downfield one-on-one. He's also in a good situation, with Nix already proven as at least a competent starting QB -- possibly much more -- and Denver's other wide receivers largely being small, fast players that aren't likely to take on many of the intermediate targets and jump balls on which Sutton thrives.

Not worried about target drop
Sutton told reporters Thursday that he is not concerned about a potential dip in targets after the Broncos acquired Jaylen Waddle from the Dolphins in March, Bobby Kownack of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sutton has logged 1,000-plus receiving yards in back-to-back seasons and finished the 2025 campaign with 74 catches on 124 targets for 1,017 yards and seven touchdowns over 17 regular-season games. Entering his ninth NFL season, the veteran wideout has never played alongside a pass catcher as talented as Waddle, but Sutton's comments Thursday revealed his desire to help Denver make it to the Super Bowl, which the Broncos fell short of last year after losing to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
