2026 Fantasy Outlook
Wicks' outlook improved this April when the Eagles traded fifth- and sixth-round picks to acquire him, but optimism faded two weeks later when Philadelphia drafted fellow wideout Makai Lemon in the first round. A.J. Brown is off to New England, leaving Wicks, Lemon and Hollywood Brown to jostle for playing time alongside new No. 1 receiver DeVonta Smith. Working in Wicks' favor is the one-year, $12.5 million extension he signed, keeping him under contract through 2027 with most of the money guaranteed. It's a steep price for someone who was largely a backup during three seasons in Green Bay, struggling with drops and never breaking through despite some promising early indicators like a high target rate. Wicks' per-route production dropped when his playing time rose, and he now finds himself in a crowded offense with a diverse group of weapons at RB, WR and TE. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Facing opportunity
Wicks will enter training camp competing for a key role in Philadelphia's receiving corps following the team's trade of A.J. Brown, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Wicks was acquired by the Eagles via a trade with Green Bay before Brown's departure, and he signed a new one-year, $12.5 million contract upon arrival. With Brown gone, DeVonta Smith remains the clear No. 1 receiver, while rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon (hamstring) and tight end Dallas Goedert are strong candidates to absorb additional targets. Still, Wicks' versatility has drawn attention, with head coach Nick Sirianni comparing him to Keenan Allen during mandatory minicamp. The 25-year-old could emerge as the favorite for the No. 3 receiver role over Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore if he continues to impress and develops chemistry with Jalen Hurts during training camp.

2023
Wicks seemed to be everyone's favorite "sleeper" at WR last year, after bursting onto the scene as a rookie fifth-round pick in 2023 with a 39-581-4 receiving line on just 58 targets and 272 routes (21.2 percent target rate, 2.13 YPRR). One of the biggest concerns for his 2024 fantasy value was a supposedly deep group of pass catchers in Green Bay, but Wicks' performance ended up being the real problem. He failed to take advantage when Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson missed time, despite drawing targets on a team-high 27.1 percent of routes. Wicks dropped nine passes, third most in the league and three more than any other player with fewer than 100 targets. He also bobbled a number of his receptions, visibly struggling to complete catches to an extent rarely seen in the NFL. Nobody doubts that Wicks can get open or gain yards after the catch, but he's far from a burner (4.62 40), and there's not much precedent for physical, possession-oriented receivers succeeding without decent hands. It's hard to say what the future will hold for him even if Watson struggles to return from an ACL tear, especially after the Packers drafted WR Matthew Golden in the first round, adding a potential new starter alongside Doubs and Jayden Reed.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Getting extra reps with Hurts
Wicks was more active in Wednesday's minicamp practice due to the absences of both DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Smith was excused from Wednesday's practice due to personal reasons and Lemon was sidelined by a lingering hamstring injury. That opened the door for Wicks to take on a larger role during team drills, and he made the most of his opportunity as Jalen Hurts' favorite target. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni relayed to reporters after practice that Wicks' route-running and flexibility around the formation reminded him of veteran Keenan Allen. The extra reps that Wicks is getting in minicamp could help him earn a prominent role in the Eagles' offense for the upcoming season, even when Smith and Lemon return.
