2026 Fantasy Outlook
Suarez is about as good as it gets for a pitcher who's neither a true innings eater nor a frontline, high-strikeout arm. He reached free agency this winter having never technically finished as a qualified starter, with last year's 157.1 innings representing a career high. Back issues prevented the lefty from making his season debut until early May, but he went on to make 26 starts with a 3.20 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Suarez's strikeout rate (23.2%), walk rate (5.8%) and groundball rate (46.8%) were all better than average for the second straight year. It's a consistent, well-rounded profile, though not one without question marks. His fastball velocity dipped to 91.2 mph last season, and while he was able to mitigate that through excellent command (his 113 Location+ led all pitchers who threw at least 120 innings), it's a profile that remains precarious. If his fastball loses another tick, or if his command falls from great to merely good, his ERA could balloon quickly. Read Past Outlooks
