Assane Diao Injury: Uncertain for AFCON

Diao is uncertain for AFCON after suffering a thigh injury against Roma, per manager Cesc Fabregas. "I prefer not to touch on the subject too much. Diao is called up and I spoke to him after the match against Inter. He knows my opinion well, I also spoke to the coach, but it didn't end with a very pleasant conversation. They have all the strength. Diao will go, if he wants to handle it that way. He leaves on Tuesday."

Diao is seemingly going to accept the call up for AFCON, against his clubs wishes. Senegal's doctors will determine if he's fit enough to play at AFCON, so his status for the tournament is up in the air. Either way it appears Diao won't be with Como for a Dec. 27 clash with Lecce. Tasos Douvikas replaced him after his injury against Roma.
