Another instant victory

June 14, 2025
Wellmaker defeated Kris Moutinho via KO (punch) at 2:37 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
The UFC was giving Wellmaker a layup here as a -2000 favorite, and to his credit, he did exactly what he had to en route to earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Malcolm has displayed elite finishing ability early in his career, and Moutinho can't take extended punishment, so here we are. Wellmaker was credited with 25 significant strikes landed, with the final one -- a massive right hand -- ending things in an instant. Malcolm is in an interesting spot moving forward. He has first-round knockout wins in his first two UFC bouts and his appearance on Dana White's Contender Series, but he has all of 10 professional fights under his belt at age 31. The company seems likely to take it easy with him for another outing or two.

New opponent scheduled
BantamweightUFC
June 4, 2025
Wellmaker will face Kris Moutinho in a bantamweight fight at UFC Atlanta on June 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker is coming off an impressive UFC debut after defeating Cameron Saaiman via K.O. in Round 1 at UFC Fight Night in Kansas City. Malcolm has nine professional fights and will look to extend his perfect record against his new challenger, Kris Moutinho, who is still looking for his first UFC victory.
Shines in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
April 26, 2025
Wellmaker defeated Cameron Saaiman via KO (punch) at 1:59 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker earned his UFC opportunity with a 2:29 knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series last August. He improved that time by exactly 30 seconds here in his official company debut. The two fought to even terms early on, at which point Wellmaker uncorked a right hand which landed flush and closed the show in an instant. He'll almost certainly be walking away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, and he deserves it (the bonus was later confirmed by UFC President Dana White). Wellmaker is clearly talented, but he has just nine professional fights under his belt, so expect some struggles along the way.

February 5, 2025
Wellmaker will fight Cameron Saaiman at UFC Kansas City on April 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker secured a UFC contract in August after defeating Adam Bramhald via KO, and his first test in the promotion will come against Saaiman, who is struggling after dropping each of his last two fights. Wellmaker, on the other hand, is undefeated eight fights into his professional career and holds a 4.5-inch reach advantage over Saaiman.
First-round KO earns contract
BantamweightUFC
August 28, 2024
Wellmaker defeated Adam Bramhald via KO (punch) at 2:29 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to earn a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker is borderline prospect status for the bantamweight division at the age of 30, but he doesn't have a ton of MMA miles on him, as he previously put together a 7-0-0 record on the regional scene. He made quick work of his opponent here as roughly a (-260) betting favorite, connecting with leg kicks early and getting a takedown stuffed before finding the finishing blow. It was a fantastic knockout for the highlight reel, and with little damage absorbed here, he should be ready for his official debut in short order.
