                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Kravtsov is making the jump back over to North America after spending the last two seasons in the KHL. The 25-year-old enjoyed some success with Traktor Chelyabinsk, including a 27-goal, 58-point performance across 66 regular-season outings in 2024-25. Kravtsov will compete for a role with the Canucks during training camp and could seize a spot in the bottom-six forward group. He had one goal, one assist and 17 hits in 16 regular-season appearances with Vancouver in 2022-23. Waived by club
Kravtsov was placed on waivers by the Canucks on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
				  ANALYSIS
Since being selected ninth overall in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Rangers, Kravtsov has gone on to play in just 64 regular-season games at the NHL level, tallying six goals and six helpers. If another NHL club doesn't pick him up, the 25-year-old winger figures to be assigned to AHL Abbotsford -- though he could ask for his outright release to return to the KHL, where he has had significantly more success over his career.

Kravtsov failed to make the Rangers' roster out of training camp a season ago, refused to report to their AHL affiliate in Hartford, requested a trade, and ultimately played the year in the KHL. New York never received a trade offer it deemed suitable, so the team hung on to Kravtsov and the two sides, recognizing they need each other for the moment, hashed out their differences. Kravtsov is an unquestioned top-six talent at a cap hit of $875K, a massive bargain for a team dealing with salary cap issues. Keep an eye on him entering the upcoming season, as Kravtsov could find himself on one of the Rangers' top-two lines, giving him real fantasy value in deeper formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Not standing out in camp
Kravtsov has not made a big impression during training camp, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports Friday.
				  ANALYSIS
Kravtsov's value comes as a big-bodied winger, but so far, he has appeared to have some difficulty with the Canucks' drills. The 25-year-old is on a two-way contract after a couple of years in the KHL -- he had 58 points in 66 regular-season games with Traktor Chelyabinsk last season, so there is some untapped scoring potential. That said, he may not make the Canucks' Opening Night roster unless he has a strong showing in preseason games.
