2025 Fantasy Outlook
There's no sugarcoating it -- Saros had an awful 2024-25. Part of it was because of a poor team performance ahead of him, one that came in far under expectations. However, Saros has been able to help the Predators overcome their shortcomings at times, but not with a 20-31-6 record, 2.98 GAA and .895 save percentage. Those were his worst numbers since becoming an NHL regular. He's trended down in two straight years, but an eight-year contract extension kicks in for 2025-26. Saros will likely feel a bit of pressure to get things back on track. Fantasy managers will be cautious with the Finn in drafts this fall, but don't let him fall too far, as he could be a top bounce-back candidate. Read Past Outlooks
Starting in Philadelphia
Saros will guard the road goal versus the Flyers on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Saros has allowed at least four goals in four of his last five games, going 2-3-0 in that span. The Flyers have won four of their last five games, but three of those victories have come past regulation time, so expected this one to be a close contest.

At this point, Saros is basically a lock to play in 60-plus games and to compile 30-plus wins after hitting both those thresholds for the third consecutive season. While the Finnish backstop was a model of consistency in those categories, his 2.86 GAA and .906 save percentage represented career-worst numbers. Despite already having a nine-year career under his belt, the undersized netminder is just 29 years old and showing little signs of diminished returns. Saros' future in Nashville is also confirmed, as he signed an eight-year contract extension in July, setting him up to spend the rest of the decade with the team. He'll have a veteran backup in Scott Wedgewood for 2024-25, but the Predators will ride with Saros as a rock between the pipes behind a boosted lineup next season, giving him the potential to be the No. 1 overall fantasy goalie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Operating in starter's crease
Saros was working in the starter's net at Tuesday's morning skate, according to Max Herz of 102.5 The Game Nashville, which indicates he'll probably draw the start against the Lightning on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Saros has won back-to-back games after dropping three straight, as he's now up to a 4-2-2 record, 2.68 GAA and .909 save percentage. His numbers have improved so far this year, but if the Predators continue to be a volatile team, it may be hard to predict Saros' good games. As far as the Lightning, they've won two consecutive games after losing their previous four.
