Harpur hasn't played for enough teams to qualify as a journeyman defenseman, but it's unlikely he sees more than third-pairing minutes if he can stick in the Rangers' lineup this year. He had six points, 63 hits and 57 blocked shots over 42 games in a similar role last season. Harpur's enough of a veteran to fill in when injuries arise, but the offseason addition of Erik Gustafsson and the impending arrival of prospect Zac Jones means Harpur may not get as much playing time in 2023-24.
