Heading to Seattle
SSeattle Seahawks
March 12, 2026
Thomas and the Seahawks agreed to terms on a one-year contract Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Thomas will call Seattle his home for the first time in his NFL career after spending the last four seasons with the Colts. He was a key part of the Colts' secondary in the two years after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Thomas saw less defensive snaps over the last two years and more work on special teams, and he finished the 2025 regular season with 21 tackles (14 solo) across 17 games. He'll likely see most of his snaps on special teams in Seattle but would be in line for more snaps in the secondary if one or both of Ty Okada and Julian Love were to miss time.

2023
Thomas started 15 of 17 games in 2023 but lost the starting free safety job to Nick Cross. He'll have a reserve safety role in the secondary with Cross returning and with the signing of Cam Bynum.
Thomas started 15 of 17 games last season, but that doesn't mean he'll maintain his spot atop the depth chart heading into 2024. Both Daniel Scott (knee) and Nick Cross will have the opportunity to take the job from Thomas, who finished the 2023 campaign with 34 tackles, four pass breakups and two interceptions.
Thomas was a revelation for a struggling Colts secondary last season as he moved into the starting lineup where he is expected to remain in 2023 alongside fellow safety Julian Blackmon. As a rookie, the 2022 seventh-rounder out of Yale had 52 tackles and four interceptions in 17 games while limiting opposing receivers to just 10 receptions on 19 targets, according to Pro Football Focus.
