2026 Fantasy Outlook
Okonkwo had between 450 and 560 receiving yards in each of his four seasons with the Titans while averaging two TDs per season and playing in every game. He set career highs with 56 catches for 560 yards on 79 targets in his final campaign with Tennessee before signing a three-year contract with Washington, where Okonkwo is set to operate as the top pass-catching TE. Okonkwo’s career-best production in 2025 came despite him ceding the majority of snaps to rookie fourth-round pick Gunnar Helm down the stretch, though that could be attributed to the rebuilding Titans wanting to get a longer look at Helm in anticipation of letting their 2022 fourth-round pick walk in free agency. Okonkwo’s undersized at 6-foot-3 and 238 pounds, so he hasn’t been particularly productive in the red zone and is just adequate as a blocker, but perhaps the upgrade under center from various underwhelming Titans QBs to Jayden Daniels will help the shifty Okonkwo, who has 4.52 speed, unlock a new level. Daniels leaned heavily on veteran TE Zach Ertz, who is now a free agent, in the talented QB’s first two seasons. Read Past Outlooks
Building chemistry with Daniels
Ahead of training camp, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site relays that Okonkwo (who signed a three-year deal with the team in March) and QB Jayden Daniels have already developed a strong connection through their work during OTAs and minicamp.
ANALYSIS
With Zach Ertz (knee), who drew 72 targets in 13 regular-season contests in 2025, no longer in the mix, Okonkwo tops a Washington TE depth chart that also includes returnees John Bates and Ben Sinnott, a duo that combined for 29 targets last season. During his fourth and final campaign with the Titans, Okonkwo put up a 56/560/6 receiving line on 79 targets across 17 regular-season outings. Given that the 2022 fourth-rounder has already developed chemistry with a signal-caller who Selby notes often likes to get tight ends involved in the offense, Okonkwo is a candidate to see an uptick in production in his new locale in 2026. It's a context in which the tight feels like he "can finally just unleash," while operating as one of Daniels' key pass-catching options along with top WR Terry McLaurin.

Okonkwo has started slowly in all three of his NFL campaigns, posting just 570 yards and two touchdowns in 30 games played in Weeks 1-11 compared to 887 yards and four touchdowns in 21 games played from Week 12 onward. Given that context, Okonkwo's strong finish to 2024 won't necessarily carry over to 2025; he caught 22 of 28 targets for 182 yards in Weeks 15 through 17 before a minor abdomen injury limited him to three snaps in Week 18. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end relies on speed (4.52 40) and YAC ability more so than strength and size, which gives him potential to break big plays but can negatively impact his usage near the goal line. Okonkwo has just six touchdowns through three seasons and saw only one target inside the 10-yard line last season, while backup TEs Josh Whyle and Nick Vannett combined to score four TDs in 2024. The Titans bolstered their TE room by drafting Gunnar Helm in the fourth round this spring, but Okonkwo is still the favorite for playing time in passing situations, playing in an offense with a new QB (No. 1 pick Cam Ward) and weak receiving options behind WR Calvin Ridley.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Looks forward to being 'unleashed'
Okonkwo, who signed as a free agent with the Commanders this offseason, is excited about the potential production boost he could enjoy in Washington's offense, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 fourth-round pick of the Titans certainly had his fair share of memorable moments during his four-year tenure in Tennessee, a stretch in which he posted a combined 194-2,017-8 line across 68 regular-season games while recording 23 receptions of more than 20 yards. Okonkwo is not only excited about the overall structure of the new offense being installed by offensive coordinator and former NFL quarterback David Blough, but also the accuracy he saw from his new signal-caller Jayden Daniels during offseason workouts.
