2026 Tournament PreviewThe Pat Kelsey rebuild took another step forward for Louisville in 2025-26, as a tougher non-conference schedule and seven Quad 1 wins have improved the teams seed from the 8-seed it entered as a season ago. This year, a deep bench full of three-point shooters have led the Cardinals to the No. 14 offense (per KenPom), which attempts the third-most threes in the country (33.0) and makes them at a rate of 36.3 percent (No. 51). The Cardinals are even better inside the arc, converting 59.6 percent of two-point baskets (No. 11). The best all-around player is future NBA first-round pick Mikel Brown (18.2 ppg, 4.7 apg), but three other players average double figures for a rotation that runs nine-deep. The other standout is Xavier transfer Ryan Conwell (18.7 ppg), who has hit over 100 threes and helps create one of the most formidable backcourts in the country when Brown is healthy. Brown, however, missed back-to-back games with a back injury to close the regular season and has 10 total DNPs on the year. He'll need to be full-go for Louisville to reach its ceiling, though there's always the concern of an off shooting day resulting in an early exit.
