2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wiseman needed surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon last October, and his status for the 2025-26 campaign remains unclear. However, when healthy, the 2020 No. 2 overall pick could be in prime position to compete for a starting role. Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Thunder, which played a part in Myles Turner opting to leave the Pacers and sign with the Bucks this offseason. The big man's departure leaves a huge hole in Indiana's frontcourt. Isaiah Jackson is also recovering from a torn Achilles, and he'll battle Wiseman for playing time when they're both available. If they can't suit up, newcomer Jay Huff might be in the first five on Opening Night. Tony Bradley, Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker are the other options, but they are all undersized for a starting center. Even when healthy, Wiseman hasn't been a strong fantasy contributor in the past, but he's still only 24 years old and could see ample playing time down the road for a Pacers team that's headed for a lost year with Haliburton unavailable and Turner no longer in town. Waived by Indiana
The Pacers waived Wiseman on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
After tearing his Achilles tendon in Indiana's 2024-25 regular-season opener, Wiseman was traded to the Raptors in February before being waived. The big man re-signed with the Pacers in July to help bolster their frontcourt depth after losing Myles Turner in free agency. However, Wiseman couldn't capitalize on the opportunity and will now have to explore other opportunities. In a corresponding move, the Pacers signed Mac McClung to bolster their banged-up backcourt.

After another disappointing season, Wiseman's role in Detroit is no clearer than it was when he was traded. Although he was given an opportunity to prove himself to close the season, he fell short despite starting in 22 games down the stretch. In that span, he was barely inside the top 300 in standard leagues, averaging 13.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks. At this point, he is a much worse version of Deandre Ayton, with very little upside to improve anytime soon. Jalen Duren appears to be the center of the future in Detroit, meaning Wiseman is likely to be the backup. He also has to contend with Marvin Bagley and Isaiah Stewart, both of whom can be utilized at the center position. At this point, there is no reason to draft Wiseman outside of very deep leagues.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Indiana to use three centers?
Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said on The Fan Made Show on Wednesday that he may deploy three centers in his rotation this season.
ANALYSIS
With Myles Turner out of the equation, who starts at center will be a burning question around Indiana. Carlisle hinted that it might be a "swiss-army knife" situation, meaning he could rotate his starter depending on the matchups. Wiseman, who is recovering from an Achilles tear, could be ready in time for training camp. Once there, he will be competing for minutes with Isaiah Jackson, Jay Huff and Tony Bradley.
