Nick Loftin

27-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Kansas City Royals AAA
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Loftin was unable to crack the Royals' Opening Day roster in 2025 but bounced back between Triple-A and the majors. He produced a .908 OPS across 197 plate appearances in the minors, which dipped noticeably in the majors to an OPS of .635 in 188 PAs. Loftin has the utility to play multiple positions in the infield and outfield and should see major-league action in 2026, even if he isn't a part of Kansas City's Opening Day roster. Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Loftin had an .803 OPS in his first taste of the majors in 19 games in 2023, but struggled last season with a .518 OPS in 57 games. He still hit .302 with a .857 OPS at Triple-A last season. He can play several positions in the infield and outfield (he played second base Saturday) which will have him in the mix for a utility role this spring.
Loftin hit a productive, if unspectacular, 14 home runs with a .788 OPS at Triple-A last season. He then hit .323 with an .803 OPS over 68 plate appearances in his first big-league audition. His MLB numbers, especially fueled by a .392 BABIP, likely won't last over a longer sample. Loftin has played all around the infield in his minor-league career, so he could win a utility role with the Royals this spring. He has had low strikeout rates (13.1% K% at Triple-A) with strong walk rates (9.7% BB% at Triple-A), so he could maintain an above-average batting average.
