Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
It was a tale of two seasons in 2025 for Yastrzemski, who struggled in 97 games with the Giants but found his power stroke after being traded to the Royals. The veteran outfielder hit just eight homers for San Francisco but clubbed nine in about half as many games with Kansas City, and the end result was a combined .735 OPS, which nearly matched his 2024 figure. Yastrzemski's production the past three seasons has been modest, batting .232 while averaging 17 home runs, 49 RBI and 60 runs, but the consistency of those numbers make him a good depth target in the outfield for fantasy managers. He joined Atlanta on a two-year contract in December and should be a regular in the lineup, though his volume could be a bit limited since opportunities versus left-handed pitching will likely be sporadic. Struggles continue Sunday
Yastrzemski went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and three strikeouts in Sunday's win over the Guardians.
Analysis
Six different Atlanta players recorded multiple hits in a 13-1 rout, but Yastrzemski instead led the team in a less helpful category, accounting for three of the five strikeouts by Cleveland pitchers on the night. The veteran slugger is still looking for his first homer of 2026, slashing .180/.293/.260 through 15 games with what would be a career-worst 27.6 percent strikeout rate, but for now his spot as the strong side of a platoon in left field doesn't appear to be in jeopardy.

2020
The veteran outfielder has provided a reliable glove and above-average bat since making his debut in 2019, and that remained the case last season with a 106 wRC+ and plus-four Defensive Runs Saved. Yastrzemski clubbed 18 homers with 57 RBI and 60 runs to go along with a .231/.302/.437 slash line in 140 games, with an 8.2 percent walk rate being the lowest since his rookie year. Now entering his age-34 campaign, Yastrzemski is a good bet to hit around .230 with 15-20 home runs, but his counting stats could continue to have a limited ceiling given his struggles against left-handed pitching, though he could receive a boost given the lineup improvements around him. He likely won't be a major difference maker but can help round out a fantasy outfield, especially in deeper leagues.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Returning to Kansas City?
The Royals are interested in re-signing Yastrzemski, reports Jaylon Thompson of The Kansas City Star.
Analysis
The veteran outfielder struggled to a .685 OPS for San Francisco last season before being dealt to the Royals, but he found his groove after the trade with an .839 OPS. Yastrzemski also quickly became a leader in the clubhouse, and he would bring some stability to a Royals outfield without established producers.
