2026 Fantasy Outlook
Soler was traded to the Angels last winter after being acquired by Atlanta at the 2024 trade deadline, and his first year in Anaheim was an underwhelming one with 12 home runs and a .215/.293/.387 slash line in 82 games. He missed the final two-plus months of the season due to a back injury, which also sent him to the injured list earlier in the year. Soler was a quality power threat the previous two years with 57 home runs and a .246 average while playing about 140 games each season, but he's been an inconsistent producer year-to-year throughout his career. His strikeout rate spiked to 29.9 percent last season -- his worst mark since 2020 -- while a .172 ISO was his worst since 2017. A resurgence in 2026 wouldn't be surprising if Soler can stay healthy, but his low floor and limited upside for run production in an underwhelming Angels lineup makes him a risky fantasy proposition. Suspension reduced to four games
Soler's suspension has been reduced to four games, and he will begin serving the ban during Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Soler had initially received a seven-game ban for his involvement in a brawl during the Angels' 7-2 loss to Atlanta on April 7. After getting the suspension reduced, Soler will be eligible to return for Sunday's series finale against the Padres. The Angels will likely mix and match at designated hitter over the next four games while Soler is unavailable.

Soler inked a three-year, $42 million contract with the Giants last winter but lasted just half a season in San Francisco, getting dealt back to Atlanta - where he won World Series MVP honors in 2021 - at the trade deadline. The 33-year-old mostly underwhelmed during his time with the Giants but had heated up right before the trade and carried that over with Atlanta, collecting an .849 OPS with nine homers over 182 plate appearances. Soler was a full-time designated hitter in San Francisco but played the outfield in Atlanta, which wasn't good for the team's defense but ensured that Soler would have outfield eligibility in fantasy in 2025. He's expected to return to full-time DH duty following another trade over the winter that sent him to the Angels.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Giants could look at him
Soler could be a trade target for the Giants ahead of the deadline, Jim Bowden of The Athletic speculates.
Analysis
Soler is better suited to play as a DH at this stage of his career, but he would give the team a much-needed boost offensively. The Giants already acquired Rafael Devers, but adding another impact bat wouldn't be a bad idea, especially since the Giants play in one of the toughest divisions in baseball.
