Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Bader split the 2025 campaign between Minnesota and Philadelphia, finishing with 17 home runs, 11 steals and a career-best .796 OPS in 146 games. The veteran outfielder's .644 OPS across the previous three seasons positioned him for more of a reserve role with the Twins, but he then delivered the most productive season of his career. Despite the improved results, a poor hard-hit rate (40.7 percent) and average exit velocity (87.2 mph) led to a .223 xBA and .364 xSLG, which are significantly worse than his actual figures of .277 and .449, respectively. Bader's reliable defense should help him secure a more regular role to open 2026, but fantasy managers shouldn't invest too heavily with the expectation that he outperforms the underlying numbers by such a significant margin for a second straight year. Placed on IL with hamstring strain
The Giants placed Bader on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.
Analysis
Bader first hurt his hamstring late in spring training. While he avoided the IL initially, the injury has continued to linger and likely contributed to his lackluster .115/.145/.192 batting line. Jung Hoo Lee will likely shift over to center field while Bader is out, opening up right field for Jerar Encarnacion, Drew Gilbert and Will Brennan.

At the start of spring training, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza named Bader the team's everyday center fielder. While that mostly held true during the season, there was times during the season when the 30-year-old's playing time was hit-or-miss. Bader did ultimately finish with 143 games and 437 plate appearances, which were both career highs, thanks in large part to a rare full season of health for the outfielder. A .657 OPS and 85 wRC+ weren't anything to write home about, but Bader did prove useful in deeper fantasy formats with his 12 home runs and 17 stolen bases. After signing a one-year contract with Minnesota, Bader may be used more in a reserve and platoon role. However, he should get plenty of playing time in center field behind an injury-prone Byron Buxton and could also factor into a platoon elsewhere in an outfield dominated by left-handed hitters.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Planned pursuit from San Francisco
The Giants "are poised to engage" on Bader, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Bader is reportedly seeking a three-year contract after putting together arguably his best season in 2025, having slashed .277/.347/.449 with 17 home runs and 11 steals over 146 regular-season games between the Twins and Phillies. He also showed he can play plus defense in the corner outfield spots in addition to his stellar work in center field. The Giants have an opening in right field, although they could move Jung Hoo Lee there if they prefer the defensively-superior Bader in center.
