Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Conine was the Marlins' Opening Day right fielder in 2025 and got off to a nice start, but less than a month into the season he suffered a dislocated left shoulder that required surgery. The initial expectation was that the 28-year-old would be lost for the season, but he was able to make it back for the final week and even popped a home run in his first game back. The batted-ball data for Conine in a short sample in 2025 was impressive, as he sported a 48.1 percent hard-hit rate, 14.8 percent barrel rate and 117.4 mph max exit velocity. Conine also struck out at a 29.1 percent clip, which is on the low end of expected outcomes given that he fanned at an obscene 34.6 percent rate in the minors. The raw power with Conine is definitely there, but it's a long shot he'll make enough contact for it to matter, and he's not guaranteed regular at-bats. Read Past Outlooks
Slated for surgery
Conine will undergo a left hamstring tendon excision next week, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Conine suffered a left hamstring strain during Thursday's game against Cincinnati and has now decided to go under the knife to treat the problem. He's expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks following the procedure, setting him up for a return to Miami's lineup in late May or early June.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2020
When you're in the Marlins organization and your dad's nickname is literally Mr. Marlin, there's plenty of pressure on you to reach the big leagues. Conine pulled it off in 2024 and settled in nicely as a regular over the final month of the season, collecting a .777 OPS while cranking three home runs in 89 trips to the plate. The 27-year-old probably has more raw power than his old man, but unfortunately he did not inherit his dad's contact skills. Conine struck out at a rate of 31.5 percent during his cup of coffee in Miami, and his 34.8 percent rate from the minors is even worse. The list of players with that level of swing and miss who are able to stick in the majors is short, so Conine is, in all likelihood, a Quad-A type player. However, the Marlins aren't exactly teeming with offensive options, so he could get a shot to defy the odds.
