2026 Fantasy Outlook
Patrick was the latest unheralded pitcher to emerge from Milwaukee's pitching factory in 2025, posting a 3.53 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 127:40 K:BB across 119.2 innings as a rookie, with his emergence providing the club with some much-needed rotation stability during an injury-plagued first half. The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A in early July, however, but he returned to the majors in August and worked as a swingman down the stretch and played a key role in the playoffs with 11 strikeouts and just two runs allowed in nine frames. Patrick utilized seven different pitches and posted a strong 25.2 percent strikeout rate while being middle of the road in batted-ball metrics. A 3.88 xERA and 3.98 xFIP indicate he may have overperformed a bit, but those numbers aren't worrying given the surrounding context of him being a rookie starter pitching in front of an elite defense. Patrick should make at least a fair amount of starts for the Brewers in 2026, but he isn't guaranteed to be a consistent member of the rotation given the plethora of young starting options at the club's disposal. Tobias Myers had a similar breakout for Milwaukee in 2024 but struggled early last season and ended up making just six starts and working out of the bullpen. Patrick profiles better given his strikeout potential and should enter spring training in a strong position to open 2026 in the rotation, but he could end up being the odd man out at some point with top prospects like Logan Henderson and Robert Gasser coming back from missing most of 2025 due to injuries. Longest outing of season
Patrick didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Blue Jays, tossing 6.2 innings of one-run ball while allowing three hits and two walks. He struck out two.
Analysis
The 9:7 K:BB is a bit concerning for Patrick, as the inability to record strikeouts and the failure to pitch deep into games have limited his upside considerably despite holding a 0.95 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP through his first four starts. Patrick pitched past the sixth inning for the first time this season, and he'll look to build on this performance in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for next week at home against the Tigers.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
A 26-year-old righty whom the Brewers added to the 40-man roster this offseason, Patrick had excellent results as an older starter at Triple-A in 2024. He had a 2.90 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 145 strikeouts in 136.1 innings, and he closed with a 1.73 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB in 26 innings over his last five starts. Patrick will throw the kitchen sink at batters, leaning on his 88-mph cutter and upper-80s changeup while sometimes throwing his fastball (he throws a four-seamer and a sinker) less than 30 percent of the time. He also mixes in a mid-80s slider, but his cutter and changeup are his best offerings. He's willing to pitch backwards, often dialing up his low-90s fastball, which has good movement, for Ks while hitters are sitting on his cutter. The Brewers have a good track record of developing unsung starting pitchers, and Patrick certainly qualifies, as he's on his third organization and has never pitched in the majors. He'll presumably open the year back at Triple-A to serve as rotation depth, but he has little left to prove in the minors.

Candidate for 40-man spot?
The Brewers could add Patrick to the 40-man roster in order to prevent him from being selected during the Rule 5 Draft, reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Analysis
The right-hander was mentioned by manager Pat Murphy as a potential rotation option as Milwaukee dealt with injuries, so he's already on the cusp of the big leagues. Patrick was acquired by the Brewers from the A's last November and had a 2.90 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 145:39 K:BB across 136.1 innings during 2024.
