Runner-up Finish in Austria
Verstappen finished second in the Austrian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
Despite crashing out of Q3 in Saturday's qualifying, Verstappen would rally and turn in a tremendous race Sunday at the Red Bull Ring. He would get a good launch at the lights out and pass both Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc in the opening laps. Verstappen's race was highlighted by a couple thrilling battles with Lewis Hamilton in which the two would overtake each other multiple times. Verstappen would shore up P2 after the final stop of the day and push race-winner, George Russell, all the way to the finish. It was his best result of the season and the most pace the Red Bull Ford has shown thus far in the season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After an overall dominant performance last season, Verstappen is expecting a repeat in 2023 after coming away with a Formula One record of 15 wins in a season and the undisputed title of World Champion. The RB18 proved to be no match for the rest of the grid as Verstappen repeatedly battled his way through the pack to finish first a whopping 65% of the time, earning 454 championship points by the conclusion of Abu Dhabi. The driver of the No. 1 Red Bull found no consistent competition with any of the other constructors and kept a firm grip on the championship standings following his only 2 DNFs of the season at Bahrain and Melbourne. Verstappen is truly the man to beat going into the 2023 season; drivers without a consistently reliable vehicle and discipline behind the wheel will find him an insurmountable opponent on track, unless Team Red Bull finds themselves facing a new, unforeseen challenge with the car this year.
