UFC return spoiled

April 19, 2026
Boser lost to Gokhan Saricam via TKO (punches) at 4:43 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 273 on Saturday in Winnipeg.
ANALYSIS
Boser was one of the few fighters to be cut from the UFC after a win, and it will be interesting to see how much run he is given in his second stint with the promotion following this result. The Canadian fighter had bouts of success in this one, but just as it looked like Saricam was slowing down, he fired a perfectly timed right hand to end Boser's night. The 34-year-old's size will likely always put him in a tough spot, as he is too small for heavyweight and not quick enough to compete with the better athletes at 205 pounds. He fell to 22-11-1 in professional MMA due to the loss.

Scheduled for UFC Winnipeg
Light HeavyweightUFC
March 2, 2026
Boser is scheduled to compete against Gokhan Saricam in a heavyweight fight at UFC Winnipeg on April 18, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
After logging a win on the regional scene, Boser has re-signed with the UFC and will log his first fight back with the promotion since 2023. He, with a career 5-5 UFC record, takes on an ex-Bellator newcomer in Saricam at heavyweight, the former's usual weight class before he made a brief switch near the tail-end of his last promotion run.
Enters free agency with win
Light HeavyweightUFC
August 5, 2023
Boser defeated Aleksa Camur via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 50 on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Boser was knocked out by Ion Cutelaba in just over two minutes in his light heavyweight debut this past April, but he was able to get right back on track here against a less accomplished opponent in Camur. Camur was willing to engage Boser in a back-and-forth brawl, which worked out just fine for Tanner considering he had a massive technical and speed edge on the feet. Boser announced prior to the bout this was the last fight on his UFC contract. Even with the win, he's just 2-4 in his past half-dozen fights, but two of those losses have come via split decision, and he's clearly much better suited for 205 pounds as opposed to heavyweight. There doesn't seem to be any reason the two sides wouldn't be able to come to terms on a new deal.

May 18, 2023
Boser will take on Aleksa Camur in a light heavyweight bout at a UFC event on Aug. 5, Nolan King of USA Today reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Boser is looking to right the ship after two consecutive losses, one at the hands of Rodrigo Nascimento and the other to Ion Cutelaba. In fact, Boser hasn't won since 2021, when he took down Ovince St. Preux with punches in the second round. His opponent, the less-experienced Camur, is also coming off two consecutive losses.
Crushed in 205 debut
Light HeavyweightUFC
April 15, 2023
Boser lost to Ion Cutelaba via TKO (punches) at 2:05 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Boser's light heavyweight debut was an unmitigated disaster, as he barely lasted two minutes in his new division. He found himself off-balance in a striking exchange between the two men and was greeted by a right hand from Cutelaba that essentially ended the fight right then and there. A takedown and a few follow-up shots later, and Boser was officially finished. Tanner has lost four of his last five dating back to November 2020, and while he theoretically is better suited to compete at 205 pounds, he may not get the chance to for very long with the UFC given his recent struggles.
Moving to light heavyweight
Light HeavyweightUFC
February 19, 2023
Boser will move down to 205 pounds and will face Ion Cutelaba in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Kansas City, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Boser lost to Rodrigo Nascimento via split decision in September 2022 as a heavyweight, and with a 1-3 record across his last four fights, it seems moving down a category is a smart decision. He will face an opponent who's also looking to bounce back after losing his most recent bout in November last year. The fight between Boser and Cutelaba does not have a scheduled date yet.
