Won't be fighting Dariush
Torres has withdrawn from his scheduled lightweight fight against Beneil Dariush on April 11 due to an undisclosed injury, according to OverDogs Podcast.
ANALYSIS
Torres was expected to fight for the first time since Dec. 5, when he defeated Grant Dawson to improve to 5-1 since signing with the UFC in 2022. However, the undisclosed injury means "El Loco" will have to wait to make his return to the octagon. Dariush will have to find a new opponent, as the plan for now is to have the fight go through.

Slated to fight Dariush
Torres will fight Beneil Dariush at UFC 327 on April 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Statement win over Grant Dawson
Torres defeated Grant Dawson via TKO (punches) at 2:25 of Round 1 at UFC 323 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Six fights into his UFC run, it's clear as day Torres has all-world power. Going up against an opponent here in Dawson that was 11-1 with the company, all it took was one huge combination to put him away in an instant. The question at this point is how will Torres fare when he's forced to fight more than a round. 19 of his 20 professional bouts -- and all six with the UFC -- have ended in the first five minutes. Torres does have seven career wins via submission, so he appears to have a secondary skill to fall back upon if the power shots aren't landing. Set to turn 31 years of age in late-March, Manuel should try to get back in the Octagon as soon as possible considering he absorbed no damage here. In the meantime, he'll walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Another instant victory
Torres defeated Drew Dober via TKO (punches) at 1:45 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Torres racked up a ton of stoppage wins on the regional scene prior to his UFC arrival, but we see that all the time, and it rarely carries over to the highest level. Except in this case. The 30-year-old was at it again here, dropping Dober with a right hand before finishing him off with countless unanswered blows to the side of the head. The finish would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, one of four awarded on the evening. Torres is now 4-1 in the UFC, with all five fights ending via first-round stoppage. In fact, each of Manuel's last dozen bouts dating back to August 2018 have ended in Round 1. As a result, his cardio remains an open question.
