                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Considering the Kraken's tendency for balanced scoring, there's nothing wrong with Wright putting up 19 goals and 44 points over 79 appearances. There are some flaws in his profile for now -- he took just 91 shots on net, resulting in a 20.9 shooting percentage. It's possible Wright develops as a playmaking center more than a finisher, but he's still just 21 years old, so he should be able to make some gains in increasing his shot volume. He also spent a large portion of 2024-25 in a third-line role, so an increase in ice time from his average of 14:04 would also help his offense reach another level or two. Wright is a sleeper pick in fantasy, but based on what we've seen so far, the Kraken's offense will need to take a step forward for the center to cash in on his high potential. Pots goal in overtime loss
Wright scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
				  ANALYSIS
Wright snapped a four-game goal drought with his tally at 15:17 of the third period. The 21-year-old center continues to occupy a third-line role for the Kraken. He's up to three goals, three assists, 16 shots on net, eight hits, six blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 10 appearances. Wright has some breakout potential this season, though the Kraken's scoring-by-committee approach rarely leads to big numbers for any one player.

				2023
Through his first two seasons, Wright was limited to just 16 games with the Kraken in which he garnered five goals on 16 shots, two assists and 12 blocks. With the offseason addition of Chandler Stephenson, the 20-year-old Wright could struggle to break into the top six, which will limit his chances of providing offensive upside. The offensive upside is there for the Ontario native, he racked up 22 goals and 25 assists in 59 regular-season games with AHL Coachella Valley last year, but his opportunities to show may continue to be limited due to the logjam down the middle. Still, Wright figures to be a high-risk, high-reward option heading into the 2024-25 campaign. If he can force his way into more minutes, he could produce at a high level.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Non-starter in trade talks
Wright's name has been brought up in trade conversations, but Kraken general manager Ron Francis has no interest in trading the center, Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network reports.
				  ANALYSIS
Wright is apparently very much part of the Kraken's future plans, even as their need for a couple of scoring forwards is glaringly obvious. The Kraken have been linked to a few forwards via trade or free agency already, but any potential trade package likely won't include Wright. The 20-year-old center put up 47 points in 59 regular-season contests for AHL Coachella Valley and added five points in eight games with Seattle.
