2026 Fantasy Outlook
Bobrovsky doesn't shoulder most of the blame for the Panthers' wasted 2025-26, but it was a warning sign. He went 27-23-1 with a 3.07 GAA and an .877 save percentage over 52 games. Bobrovsky has played a lot, as the Panthers played for the Stanley Cup in three straight years before 2025-26. Still, Bobrovsky will be 38 years old in 2026-27. There's a chance he doesn't bounce back from last year, especially if he finds a new home in free agency. He's still a threat to win 25-30 games even if his performances are poor. Bobrovsky has minimal upside at this stage of his career, especially if his workload gets managed to keep him fresh throughout the year. Consider him a No. 3 fantasy goalie who should be available in the late rounds. Read Past Outlooks
Not starting after all
Bobrovsky will not get the starting nod versus Detroit on Wednesday, contrary to an earlier report.
ANALYSIS
Bobrovsky may be seeing his tenure with the Panthers come to a close from the bench, as the veteran netminder's current contract expires in the summer. Daniil Tarasov has seen the bulk of the playing time down the stretch after the Panthers essentially decided to close up shop for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

For the 13th straight season, Bobrovsky maintained a save percentage above .900, posting a .906 mark in addition to his 2.44 GAA and a 33-19-2 record over 54 regular-season games. The Panthers have managed his workload well enough to enable their deep playoff runs in recent years -- he hasn't topped the 60-game mark in a season since joining the Panthers in 2019. He's only gotten better in recent years, but he'll be entering his age-37 season in 2025-26, so the risk of age-related regression is nothing to scoff at. Bobrovsky is the type of goalie that you can trust until he gives you a reason not to, though you shouldn't expect him to lead the league in anything at this stage of his career.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No hometown discount?
Bobrovsky is unlikely to give the Panthers a hometown discount to make re-signing him easier, David Dwork of The Hockey News reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Bobrovsky has completed his seven-year, $70 million contract and can become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday. The Panthers won the Cup in 2024 and 2025 with Bobrovsky between the pipes, but he'll celebrate his 38th birthday Sept. 20, so re-signing him comes with a significant degree of risk, especially in the likely event that he expects a multi-year deal. He had a 27-23-1 record, 3.07 GAA and .877 save percentage in 52 appearances with the Panthers in 2025-26.
