                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Laughton picked up 13 goals, 31 points, 125 shots and 178 hits across 80 regular-season appearances between Toronto and Philadelphia in 2024-25. After being acquired by the Maple Leafs ahead of the trade deadline, he had two goals and two assists in 20 games before adding two helpers in 13 playoff outings. Laughton’s average ice time per game lowered by two minutes with his new team. He has reached the 40-point plateau once in 12 seasons and likely won’t achieve that mark in 2025-26. Still, he should be a good blend of hits and faceoff wins while occupying a bottom-six role. Might practice Friday
Laughton (lower body) may be ready to practice Friday, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports, which could clear him to face the Flyers on Saturday.
				  ANALYSIS
Laughton would no doubt be eager to face his former club in Philadelphia, but he will have to wait and see how he responds to practice Friday. During his 12 years with the Flyers, the Ontario native notched 108 goals and 161 assists in 681 regular-season appearances. To suit up Saturday, Laughton will need to be activated off injured reserve.

Laughton supplied 13 goals and 39 points across 82 contests with the Flyers in 2023-24, making it the third season he's finished in the 30-43 point range. The 30-year-old is unlikely to ever be a major offensive contributor, but he does have more value than other players projected to score at the same rate thanks to his physical edge. Laughton finished the past campaign with 69 PIM and 155 hits. He might decline a bit in terms of penalties in 2024-25 -- 69 PIM was a career high for him and his next-highest total was 53 in 2018-19 -- but he should dish out about as many hits going forward. If you're in a deep enough league to get value out of him, you can at least take comfort in the fact that Laughton is a known quantity who shouldn't disappoint.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Not practicing Monday
Laughton, who is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, didn't stay on the ice for Monday's practice session but did skate beforehand, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
				  ANALYSIS
Laughton has yet to play a game this season, missing the Maple Leafs' first nine games of the year. Once given the all-clear, the veteran center could shift into a third-line role -- though he could also move to the wing if William Nylander is out long-term with his lower-body issue. Laughton should still be capable of putting up 20-30 points this year if he isn't sidelined much longer.
