2025 Fantasy Outlook
In year four with the Blues, Buchnevich posted another solid campaign, notching 20 goals and 37 assists in 76 regular-season games. However, compared to previous years, there was a slight dip in production, as he scored the fewest number of goals and produced the fewest points on the power play since the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season. All that being said, like many on the Blues, his season and production saw an uptick with the hiring of Jim Montgomery. The 30-year-old Buchnevich was a monster in the Blues' postseason series, recording eight points in seven games, proving that there’s still some gas left in the tank. A full season coached by Montgomery, combined with his top-line, top-power play role with the Blues, will put him in a position to continue to produce points and play well despite the fact that he will finish next season on the wrong side of 30. Gets to 20-goal mark in finale
Buchnevich scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Mammoth.
ANALYSIS
Buchnevich closed out the season on a four-game point streak, including three straight contests with a goal. The 31-year-old was able to earn his sixth straight 20-goal campaign, but he ended up at 48 points over 81 appearances, falling short of the 50-point mark for the first time since the abbreviated 2020-21 season. He also had 142 shots on net, 40 blocked shot, 30 hits and a minus-10 rating.

After racking up 27 goals and 36 assists, including 18 power-play points, in 80 regular-season games last year, Buchnevich agreed to terms on a sizeable six-year, $48 million contract extension with St. Louis in July. It was the fourth straight year in which the winger was able to reach the 20-goal mark while also hitting 60 points for the third consecutive campaign. Looking ahead to 2024-25, Buchnevich is a near-lock for a first-line role, in addition to remaining with the top power-play unit. As such, fantasy managers should feel confident the Russian winger can continue to produce at a high level and put up similar numbers to his last two seasons.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might get contract extension offer
The Blues plan to discuss a contract extension with Buchnevich over the summer, according to Lou Korac of NHL.com.
ANALYSIS
Buchnevich scored 27 markers and 63 points in 80 contests in 2023-24, making it the fourth straight campaign he reached the 20-goal milestone and the third consecutive season he's eclipsed 60 points. He's provided great value relative to his current four-year, $23.2 million contract, which runs through 2024-25. St. Louis will probably have to offer Buchnevich a meaningful raise in order to retain his services.
