2026 Fantasy Outlook
Peterka's goal total was steady in his first year with the Mammoth, but he had fewer chances to deliver assists than he did with the Sabres. Overall, he produced 25 goals, 22 assists, 159 shots on net, 28 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 82 regular-season contests in 2025-26. Utah decided to ship him off to Boston, likely due to a loaded prospect pipeline that would have made it difficult for him to carve out a larger role. With the Bruins, Peterka should supply around 25-30 goals, 50-55 points and 150-plus shots in 2026-27, with the potential to push past those marks if he earns more power-play time than his 1:57 per game last year. He's a fine scoring-only option in fantasy, but he'll add virtually nothing in terms of physicality. Read Past Outlooks
Shipped to Boston in trade
Peterka was traded to Boston from Utah on Friday in exchange for the No. 23 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and a 2028 first-round pick, per Pierre Lebrun of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Peterka's lone year in Utah was a disappointment, though he appeared in all 82 regular-season games and potted 25 goals, which made it the third straight year he has reached that threshold. His assist totals were way down from the prior campaign, and he managed just 47 points as a result. Still, this seems like a good buy-low opportunity for the Bruins. Peterka won't be 25 years old until next January and has a history of relatively high-end production. His fantasy value should get a slight boost with the move, as Peterka could see more power-play time with his new team.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
Peterka emerged as one of the Sabres' top scorers, supplying 27 goals and 68 points in 77 outings last season. That's up from 50 points (28 goals) in 2023-24 and 32 points (12 goals) in 2022-23. Part of that surge has come from Peterka's expanded role. He averaged 18:11 of ice time last campaign, up from 16:24 in 2023-24, and that increase included a career-high 2:55 with the man advantage, en route to 18 power-play points. However, his shots on goal dropped from 226 in 2023-24 to 173 last year, and a more aggressive campaign in that category could push him above the 30-goal milestone. He also didn't have much stability at even strength, because while he got ample minutes, he lacked consistent linemates last season. His fantasy upside should improve after a trade to the Mammoth, where he should have steady top-six minutes and power-play time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Interest from Boston
Peterka could be traded to the Bruins during the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Peterka was dealt to the Mammoth from the Sabres on June 25, 2025, and it looks like he could be on the move a year and a day later. He signed a five-year, $38.5 million contract with Utah after that trade, but he was a poor fit in the team's middle six and is at risk of getting shuffled out of the lineup by prospects in the coming years. Peterka would inject a boost of skill to the Bruins in a similar role, but he'd be stuck in a middle-six role again on his natural right side due to the presence of David Pastrnak. Considering Peterka also shot 15.7 percent during his 25-goal, 47-point regular season in 2025-26, there's no guarantee a bounce-back year is coming even with a change of scenery.
