2025 Fantasy Outlook
Despite being 33 years old, Schenn has been a staple among the Blues' top-six forwards as long as he's been there. He posted another solid season in 2024-25 with 18 goals and 32 assists and enjoyed his first season with a positive rating (plus-3) in three seasons. Perhaps troubling is that it was his first season with fewer than 20 goals in three years. However, under new head coach Jim Montgomery, Schenn discovered the power forward game that has made him an effective player in the past. He finished with 194 hits on the season, which could signal a stylistic shift in his game, as with young players like Jimmy Snuggerud and Dylan Holloway coming in, it has pushed Schenn down the pecking order. Now a middle-six forward and second power-play contributor, Schenn may have trouble filling the back of the net at the same rate going forward. Read Past Outlooks
Acquired via trade
Schenn was brought in by the Islanders from the Blues on Friday in a swap for Jonathan Drouin, a 2026 first-round pick, a third-round pick and Marcus Gidlof, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a heavy price tag for Schenn, but the veteran forward will provide the Islanders with flexibility to play center or wing in addition to potentially seeing time with the man advantage. It's been a down season for Schenn, as he is in danger of missing the 40-point mark for just the second time in the last 13 years, though a strong finish to the year with his new club could get him over the line.

Schenn had 20 goals and 46 points in 82 contests in 2023-24, which represented his worst campaign since 2013-14 when measured by points per game. In terms of goals scored, his latest season was standard for him -- he's finished with at least 20 goals in eight of the past 11 campaigns -- but he struggled to collect assists, especially at even strength. It also hurt Schenn that the Blues struggled offensively last year, tying for 24th with 2.85 goals per contest, giving him less to work with than the season prior. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 33-year-old do at least a bit better this year by exceeding the 50-point mark.

Heading to Long Island?
The Islanders might acquire Schenn from St. Louis before Friday's trade deadline, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
Schenn has 12 goals, 28 points, 49 PIM and 138 hits in 61 appearances with St. Louis in 2025-26. He recorded at least 46 points in each of the previous four regular seasons, so the 34-year-old might see an offensive production boost if he shifts to a more competitive team.
