2026 Fantasy Outlook
It seems like Fitzpatrick has been around for decades with all the career swings, but this will only be his seventh full season on the PGA Tour. In that time he's gone from underacheiver, to major winner, to stuck in a long drought and now he perhaps is on his way back to the form that won the 2022 U.S. Open. Fitzpatrick peaked during the 2022-2023 seasons, when he earned a combined $15 million and posted three wins, including the aforementioned major. Fitgerald's drought in 2024 (a season mind you, that he earned nearly $4 million) might have been a result of raised expectations. Sure, he wasn't himself for a long stretch, but he still managed to post some solid numbers. Now that expectations have been reset, Fitzgerald has a chance to over perform once again. With that in mind, Fitzgerald should be considered for salary cap leagues this season. Read Past Outlooks
T3 in Scotland
Fitzpatrick finished in a four-way tie for third at the Genesis Scottish Open following his one-under 69 in the final round.
ANALYSIS
Fitzpatrick recorded a 67-65-66 scorecard through the first three rounds at The Renaissance Club to enter Sunday tied with 2024 champion Robert MacIntyre and Min Woo Lee at the top of the leaderboard. Fitzpatrick found himself briefly at the top of the table after going two-under through seven holes, but he dropped a shot over his last 11, which wasn't enough for him to keep up with eventual winner Tom Kim (17-under). Fitzpatrick has three top-5 finishes over his last four tournaments, and he finished the Scottish Open T2 in GIR, third in SG: Approach, 12th in SG: Putting and T18 in driving accuracy, while his 21 birdies were tied for most in the field. Uncharacteristically, he ranked 64th out of the 71 players who made the cut in SG: Around, which is an area Fitzpatrick will look to sharpen heading into The Open Championship next week. He finished T4 in last year's Open Championship and T44 in 2017 at Royal Birkdale, which is the venue for this year's major.

Fitzpatrick was seemingly marked for greatness about five years ago, and while it took a little time for him to reach an elite level, he got there in 2022 when he won his first major. Not satisfied with his accomplishments in 2022, Fitzpatrick had an even better season in 2023, capturing two wins and over $8 million in earnings. 2024 was a different story, however, as he failed to win and only posted three top-10s all season. In the end, his earnings had dropped by over 50%, and while that's bad news for Fitzpatrick, it's great news for those interested in him for salary cap purposes this season. Fitzpatrick isn't quite a "must-have" at this number, but he deserves a lot of consideration as he's bound to bounce back this season.
