2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ghim closed the year with a pair of top-15 finishes to wrap up conditional status for 2026. He actually had seven top-25s in 2025, but only a best finish of T7. The lack of top finishes certainly hurt his chances to gain enough FEC points to retain full status, but he did play pretty solidly in 2025 ranking 92nd in SG: Total and 53rd in scoring average. Ghim was 10th on Tour in SG: Tee-to-Green, but way down at 177th in SG: Putting. While that ball striking does keep his floor in a reasonable position, it's hard to finish high on the leaderboard losing that many strokes each event with the putter. Read Past Outlooks
In field for Houston Open
March 23, 2026
Ghim is in the field for the 2026 Houston Open, according to Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.
ANALYSIS
Just like the Valspar Championship, Ghim will be a last-minute replacement for the Houston Open, this time in place of Matt McCarty (undisclosed). Ghim finished Valspar 40th with one-under par.

Ghim's past four seasons on the PGA Tour have looked pretty similar. He's managed to land in the top-125 after all four seasons, but he's yet to crack the top-70. It does seem as though he's getting better, but the progress has been slow. This past regular season he posted career highs in top-10s (2) and top-25s (9), yet his earnings number was lower than the previous year, but that's where the fall season comes into play. During the fall, Ghim was runner-up at the Shriners Children's Open which changed the perception of his 2024 season. For this first time since joining the PGA Tour, Ghim earned over $2 million in one season. Ghim will have some momentum heading into the 2025 season, but it's up to him to take advantage. He hasn't shown much of a ceiling in his first years on tour, so he's not a good salary cap option this year, but look for continued improvement.
Ghim failed to capitalize on the 2022 success that included a T6 in the Players Championship. Although he played a heavy schedule once again and made more cuts (54.8 percent), Ghim failed to seriously contend in any event. His best results came in May and June, where he carded three top-20 finishes, including a $335,000 cash in the Travelers Championship. Although Ghim finished 1117th in the FedEx cup rankings last season, he'll enter his sixth year as a pro in search of his first career win.
Ghim is a young player that benefits from both strong play and a busy schedule. This past year represented the 26-year-old’s third season on the PGA Tour, and he appears to be developing into a top 150 mainstay. As mentioned, Ghim plays quite a bit (29 events) and converts over half of his cut appearances, but he has yet to truly contend in a large event. His best finish - by far - in 2022 was a T6 at The Players. He will need to start competing on Sundays if he wishes to continue climbing the ranks.
Ghim impressed in his first full season on the PGA Tour. He posted a total of nine top-25s and showed strong ball-striking potential. The 25-year-old ranked top-25 on tour in SG: approach, SG: tee-to-green, driving accuracy, GIR percentage and proximity to the hole. Ghim was also top-25 in scrambling and birdie average. He is definitely one of the top breakout candidates for 2021-22.
Ghim has a stellar amateur career but has failed to live up to expectations and translate that success at the professional level. In his first full season with status, Ghim only made 5 of 11 cuts and failed to post a top-10 result. Ghim also didn't light up the Korn Ferry Tour in his one season with just three top-10 results in one season. He is only 24-years-old so there's plenty of time for improvement, but he's not much more than a dart throw at this point.
Ghim has played 13 events on the PGA Tour, but he's a true rookie this season. He was a rookie on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2018-19 and played well enough to get the call to the big leagues after just one season. Ghim looks to have some potential as he fared pretty well in those 13 starts, with four top-25s and earnings more than $350k. Throw in some experience from the Korn Ferry Tour and Ghim just might be in the running for ROY by the end of this season.
