2026 Fantasy Outlook
Gotterup got off to a slow start in 2025 as he missed the cut in 8 of his first 12 starts. He started to find his groove as the season went on racking up eight top-30s over his next nine starts. Then the true breakout happened. Gotterup stared down Rory McIlroy in the final group on Sunday at the Scottish Open and picked up his second PGA Tour victory. He rode that momentum into The Open Championship next week and finished solo third. After a T10 the following week at the 3M Open, there was a lot of talk about putting Gotterup on the Ryder Cup team. The FedExCup playoffs were mostly a disappointment, however, and Gotterup would get passed up on by U.S. Captain Keegan Bradley. Nevertheless, Gotterup's play over the second half of the 2025 season leaves plenty of reason for optimism going into 2026. He was arguably the best driver on the PGA Tour over that time, and also saw huge strides in his iron play, short game and putting. If Gotterup is able to put it all together for a full season, the potential is certainly there for him to one day become a top player on Tour. Read Past Outlooks
Drops to T11 in Scottish Open defense
Gotterup carded a one-over 71 in the final round of the Genesis Scottish Open to finish tied with Kevin Roy for 11th.
ANALYSIS
Gotterup had momentum on his side as the defending champion, having rallied last week to outlast Max Homa to win the John Deere Classic. Gotterup carried that strong play to The Renaissance Club, where he found himself in the top-5 heading into Sunday following rounds of 68-65-66. However, he was unable to maintain that strong play in the final round, shooting over-par to drop seven spots down the leaderboard to outside the top-10. Gotterup's performance on the tee box was as good as ever, as he ranked fifth in SG: Off-the-Tee and T7 in driving distance, as well as T11 in birdies, T13 in GIR and 23rd in SG: Approach, though he was middle-of-the-pack in strokes gained both around and on the green. Up next is The Open Championship, where Gotterup finished solo third last year at Royal Portrush in what was his first start at golf's oldest major. He'll look to wrap up the 2026 major season on a strong note after finishing T24 at The Masters, T10 at the PGA Championship and T43 at the U.S. Open.

2024
It didn't take Gotterup long to pick up his first PGA Tour win, as he took down the alternate event Myrtle Beach Classic in May in his rookie campaign. That was one of the few bright spots for the 2022 Haskins Award winner, as the win was his only top-10, and he only had four top-25s all year. He's one of the longest hitters on Tour (fifth in driving distance), but he's also incredibily sporadic off the tee and was only 163rd in SG: Approach. Unless he cleans up those areas significantly, he's likely to continue to be inconsistent, but his length advantage is massive and should occasionally get him into contention on his spike putting weeks.
