Antonelli has clinched pole position for the Miami Grand Prix in style, setting a magnificent lap to edge out Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to the honour, Formula1.com reports.

There was a lot of parity and speed among the various teams in this pole qualifying session and it would come down to the final flying laps of Q3 to determine pole. Antonelli put down an incredible lap of 1:27.798 early in the session and it would hold up to a last-lap challenge from Verstappen by one-tenth. The Mercedes youngster would claim his third-consecutive pole position as he continues to surge into this season. Antonelli will be the driver to beat Sunday in Miami.
