2025 Fantasy Outlook
Late-season injuries limited Maxey to 52 games, though he likely would have played if the 76ers were competitive. Philadelphia won just 24 games as Joel Embiid and Paul George combined for 60 appearances. That left a lot on Maxey's shoulders. His efficiency from the field took a hit (43.7 FG%), but the point guard averaged a career-high 26.3 points in addition to 6.1 assists and 1.8 steals with just 2.4 turnovers. He also played over 37 minutes per game (37.7) for the second straight season. Healthier seasons from George and Embiid could mean an efficiency bounceback and more assists for Maxey. If they continue to struggle with injuries, we know Maxey can pick up the scoring slack. All of that is to say that he's become the team's most reliable player - one who is producing All-Star numbers at 24 years old. There aren't many guards in the NBA better than Maxey in real life or fantasy. He should be considered for fantasy managers in the middle of the second round. Read Past Outlooks
Goes for 30 and 11 in Game 7 win
Maxey provided 30 points (11-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 11 rebounds and seven assists across 45 minutes during Saturday's 109-100 victory over Boston in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey put a bow on what was an elite first-round series, scoring at least 30 points for the second straight game while also pulling down a season-high 11 rebounds. He averaged 26.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.3 three-pointers in the series. Heading into the second round against New York, Maxey may need to take his game to yet another level, especially if Joel Embiid is limited due to a knee concern stemming from Game 7.

Maxey took another major leap forward in 2023-24, as he averaged 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 three-pointers, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in 37.5 minutes per game over 70 regular-season appearances -- all career highs -- en route to his first All-Star nod. He was rewarded with a massive five-year, $204 million max contract extension. The 76ers also acquired Paul George in free agency this summer, but Maxey figures to still be the No. 2 option behind Joel Embiid moving forward, as George is essentially taking over Tobias Harris' role in Philadelphia's offense. The only thing holding Maxey back from being a consensus early-round pick is his field-goal percentage. He shot 45.0 percent from the field on 20.3 attempts per game last season compared to 48.1 percent on 15.2 shots a night the prior year. While reaching for Maxey inside the top 30 may be a risky proposition, fantasy managers should have no hesitation selecting him in the middle rounds because he has a solidified leading role on a contending team.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Criticizes himself after Game 4
Maxey was critical of his performance after the 76ers lost Game 4 of their first-round series to the Celtics on Sunday, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored seven points on three shots in the first half of Game 4, and while he finished with 22 points on 14 shots, the star guard wasn't happy with his lack of aggression in a loss that puts the 76ers on the brink of elimination. "That absolutely can't happen," Maxey said. "That's just unacceptable by me. It wasn't meant to happen that way. We can't win basketball games with that happening, and I take full responsibility on that one." Maxey attempted at least 20 shots in each of the first three games, so the reduction in offensive workload was noticeable.
