                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Dillingham, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, averaged 4.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 10.5 minutes per game over 49 appearances for the Timberwolves. He posted shooting splits of 44.1/33.8/53.3, and never really came close to offering much fantasy appeal. While his per-game numbers were modest, Dillingham showcased flashes of playmaking and scoring potential during his rookie campaign. Things are looking up a bit heading into his second season, however. The Timberwolves had a very quiet offseason, and they were unable to retain Nickeil Alexander-Walker in free agency. Mike Conley is entering his age-38 season, and the Timberwolves may continue to scale back his minutes. If Dillingham can put together a strong training camp, he has a legitimate shot to carve out a healthy role in the rotation, making him an intriguing player to monitor as a possible sleeper. Solid showing off bench
Dillingham logged eight points (4-8 FG), one rebound, five assists and one steal over 16 minutes during Wednesday's 116-115 loss to the Lakers.
				  ANALYSIS
Making his third appearance of the campaign, Dillingham had his best game by a mile with multiple season-high marks. He was buried on the depth chart to open the season, but now it seems like he's pulling ahead of Bones Hyland. With Anthony Edwards (hamstring) sidelined, Dillingham certainly has a path to earn a larger role.

2024 Fantasy Outlook

Dillingham was selected by the Timberwolves with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. One of the most exciting offensive players in college basketball last season, Dillingham averaged 15.2 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in just 23.3 minutes per game. He also knocked down 44.4 percent of his 4.4 three-point attempts per game. At 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds, Dillingham is a bit undersized, but the Wolves are betting that he'll be able to add weight to his slight frame in order to handle the rigors of the NBA game. With Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards already in place in Minnesota, Dillingham will likely be deployed as a spark plug off the bench in Year 1, competing for minutes with Donte DiVincenzo and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. In Summer League, he averaged 13.6 points and 1.6 threes on 36/31/55 shooting, 7.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.4 blocks and 3.4 turnovers in 29.8 minutes. Dillingham's efficiency was poor in Summer League, but he showed off the speed, tough-shot-making ability and passing that should have Wolves fans and fantasy managers intrigued.

				  Excluded from rotation in opener
Dillingham (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Wednesday in the Timberwolves' 118-114 season-opening win over the Trail Blazers. "[Bones Hyland] was someone I felt could handle [the ball] out there and could stand up to some of the [Blazers'] drives," Finch told Jace Frederick of the St. Paul Pioneer Press after the game, regarding his decision to use Hyland over Dillingham.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Not guaranteed a role
Dillingham is not guaranteed an every-night role, Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press reported Monday.
				  ANALYSIS
When discussing his rotation Monday, Minnesota head coach Chris Finch said he's leaning toward an eight-to-nine man rotation. Terrence Shannon appears to be the eighth man behind Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo, leaving Dillingham to compete with Jaylen Clark, Bones Hyland and Joan Beringer. Dillingham is likely the favorite to emerge from that group, and the team has a significant amount of draft capital invested in him. However, this is certainly something to monitor.
