2025 Fantasy Outlook
With the Mavericks' backcourt decimated by injuries, Williams, who was operating under a two-way deal, was thrust into action at the end of 2024-25. Over the final 15 games, including the Play-In Tournament, the backup point guard averaged 15.5 points, 4.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals while posting 55/39/86 shooting splits. Williams was awarded a standard deal before the postseason and will return to Dallas this season. Kyrie Irving is going to miss at least the first half of the campaign while recovering from a torn ACL, but Dallas brought in D'Angelo Russell to serve as the starting point guard until the veteran superstar is good to go. That leaves Williams competing for backup minutes with Dante Exum and Jaden Hardy. That's not an ideal spot to be in for fantasy purposes, but given what we saw from Williams to end last season, he has to at least be on radars heading into 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks
Won't go Monday
Williams (Achilles) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Williams will miss his third game of the season after picking up a right Achilles injury. Expect Ryan Nembhard and Jaden Hardy to see more opportunities in the backcourt with D'Angelo Russell (illness) and Kyrie Irving (knee) also sidelined.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Williams split 2021-22 between the NBA and the G League, where he lit it up with the Westchester Knicks to the tune of 22.6 points, 6.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds over 33.1 minutes per game early in the campaign. His effort earned him a 10-day look with Portland in late December and a two-way deal in late February. Williams took advantage of his opportunity with a banged-up Trail Blazers squad down the stretch, averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 28.5 minutes per contest after the All-Star break. However, he's unlikely to repeat that output this season with Portland healthier to open 2022-23, and the second-year guard may bounce between the NBA and the G League again this year. As a result, he is likely only an attractive fantasy option in the deepest of formats.

Flagg raves about him
Cooper Flagg raved about what Williams has been bringing to the table for Dallas, Grant Afseth of the Dallas Hoops Journal reported Monday.
ANALYSIS
"Brandon Williams has been incredible," Flagg said. "High energy, so quick, uses his speed to get downhill and find guys. Our chemistry in the two-man game late in games has been really good." There haven't been a ton of positives in Dallas this season, but Williams is one of them. He has comfortably outplayed D'Angelo Russell, and over his last five games, he has produced averages of 14.6 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 0.4 three-pointers in 27.9 minutes per contest.
