Injuries have tested Milwaukee's rotation depth in the early going, so the organization was willing to part ways with one of its better lower-level outfield prospects in Rodriguez in order to get another promising young arm in its system. After slashing .250/.343/.383 with seven home runs and six stolen bases over 110 games for Single-A Carolina in 2024, Rodriguez had gotten off to a nice start to 2025 at High-A Wisconsin, going 5-for-12 with a 1:3 BB:K in 13 plate appearances. The 19-year-old is likely to report to Boston's High-A affiliate in Greenville.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The recipient of a $1.5 million bonus out of the Dominican Republic during the 2023 international signing period, Rodriguez showed off across-the-board skills while impressing as a 17-year-old in the Dominican Summer League. He was unlucky (.289 BABIP against poor defenders) but still slashed .253/.393/.449 with six home runs, 12 steals and more walks (41) than strikeouts (40) in 52 games. While many top DSL prospects have an intriguing combination of power and speed, Rodriguez's strong swing decisions and contact ability stand out. The Brewers have not been shy about sending their recent top international prospects to Single-A, bypassing the Arizona Complex League, and Rodriguez could follow that path.
