                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Vodnik filled a multi-inning, low-leverage role for Colorado early on in 2024. Featuring an upper-90's fastball (63 percent usage), slider (20 percent) and changeup (17 percent), the 25-year-old allowed a 93.1 mph average exit velocity and 49.3 hard-hit percentage that were among the worst marks in the majors. When combined with an 11.6 percent walk rate and below average K-rate (20.3 percent), you wouldn't expect this type of production to come close to the ninth inning. However, Vodnik managed to climb several rungs on Colorado's leverage ladder before he was afforded the opportunity to close for the Rockies last summer. The right-hander tallied nine saves in 15 chances and finished the year with 73.2 innings (T-14 among relievers). Vodnik enters spring training as one of the candidates to close in Colorado, but Tyler Kinley and Seth Halvorsen have more save upside. Locks down 10th save
Vodnik earned the save Sunday against the Angels, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
                  Analysis
The right-hander issued a leadoff walk to Jo Adell but quickly erased it with a double play before ultimately closing the door to secure his 10th save of the season. Vodnik has been outstanding of late, giving up just one run over his last 15 appearances while converting eight saves in that span. The 25-year-old now owns a 2.92 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 47:24 K:BB across 49.1 innings on the year.

        2024 Fantasy Outlook

Vodnik was acquired from Atlanta in late July for Pierce Johnson and got his first taste of the majors. Vodnik had a 3.35 ERA and 69:31 K:BB in 53.2 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. He has a plus fastball that averaged 97 mph in the majors. He has shown ground ball tendencies, but command issues and less promising secondary offerings could limit his upside. He'll contend for a setup role this spring.

                  Could leave Colorado
Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports that Vodnik could be a trade piece for the Rockies this summer.
                  Analysis
The Rockies aren't in a position to hang onto relievers if they generate at least some kind of trade value before the deadline, and it wouldn't be surprising if a team in contention at least kicks the tires on Vodnik's availability. The right-hander owns a 2.70 ERA across 13.1 innings in 14 appearances this season.
