Latest Fantasy Rumors
Future bullpen weapon?
Lovelady looks to have a chance to pitch high-leverage innings for the Royals down the line after posting a 6:0 K:BB in 4.1 scoreless Cactus League innings.
Analysis
Earlier this week, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com suggested Lovelady was on the outside looking in at a roster spot when camp was suspended. Still, he opened eyes in spring training with his stuff and willingness to fill up the strike zone after issuing eight free passes in 20 innings with the Royals last season. In his fifth appearance of the spring, Lovelady struck out the side: Matt Olson, Khris Davis and Mark Canha of the A's. As a lefty, Lovelady could work into high-leverage innings quickly upon his return to the big leagues.
