2026 Fantasy Outlook
PCA created some early MVP buzz in 2025 thanks to his stellar defense and a hot start to the season, but he struggled at the plate down the stretch. The center fielder finished July with a .272/.309/.559 slash line with 27 home runs and 29 steals, but he cratered during the final two months of the campaign with just four homers, six stolen bases and a .533 OPS in his final 51 regular-season games. Still, Crow-Armstrong was one of only seven players to produce a 30-30 season in 2025, which is even more impressive given that it was just his second full season in the big leagues. Even with the late offensive struggles, he remained a regular presence in the lineup due to his elite defense (plus-15 DRS and plus-21 OAA). However, his plate discipline is a major concern, with his 4.7 percent walk rate ranking fifth worst in MLB among qualified batters. Crow-Armstrong showcased his potential in 2025 and has a ceiling as high as any player in baseball, but he'll likely need to improve his plate discipline to take that next step and become a more reliable offensive contributor. Inks extension with Cubs
The Cubs and Crow-Armstrong reached an agreement on a multi-year contract extension Monday, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
The details of the extension are not yet known, and the deal is still pending a medical review, per Mooney. Crow-Armstrong is coming off a stellar sophomore season in which he hammered 31 home runs and swiped 35 bags in 157 games. His patience is expected to pay off tremendously, after he declined to participate in extension talks ahead of the 2025 season. With his finances now in order, the 23-year-old can focus solely on putting together another terrific campaign as Chicago's everyday center fielder.

Entering his age-23 season, Crow-Armstrong's bat is still well behind his glove, but he improved his offensive numbers down the stretch and positioned himself atop the Cubs' depth chart in center field to begin 2025. The first half of 2024 was ugly -- he sat with a .192/.243/.277 slash line at the end of June following his promotion from Triple-A Iowa -- but he went on to slash .287/.338/.470 over his final 202 MLB plate appearances. In addition to 10 homers, Crow-Armstrong chipped in 27 stolen bases in 30 attempts last season, ranking 13th in the National League in steals. He made just 17 starts against lefty pitching and his splits leave him open to platooning, but his excellent speed and defense would seem to give him a stable floor against right-handed pitching. Those skills prop him up and make Crow-Armstrong a viable pick in the middle rounds, although a speed-needy manager may push him up a bit higher than the overall package warrants.

Crow-Armstrong is set to sign a multi-year contract extension with the Cubs, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com.
Analysis
Crow-Armstrong represented Team USA in the World Baseball Classic and is coming off the best season of his career in 2025, finishing ninth in the NL MVP voting while also being one of seven players who finished the regular season with at least 30 homers and 30 stolen bases. Terms of the new deal have not been disclosed yet, but the new contract should lock up Crew-Armstrong as a Cubs player for years to come.
