2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez 's biggest challenge in 2026 will be to prove to fantasy managers he is not just the next version of Jhonkensy Noel. The two are cut from the same cloth: big bat speed, big exit velo, and big contact issues. Rodriguez showed all of that in limited playing time with Cleveland in 2025 after a climb up the organizational ladder in which he hit 114 homers including 29 in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. His 23.1% strikeout rate in Triple-A last season was his best since playing in A-ball in 2021, so perhaps there is hope things can get better for him. He will have to force his way into a platoon in right field or, more likely, DH because he has no discerning defensive value. This is an AL-Only end game power play situation at best right now unless we see some demonstrable changes in camp. Read Past Outlooks
Joining big club
The Orioles recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Analysis
The 26-year-old was added to the taxi squad Sunday morning, and it didn't take long for him to join the active roster once Tyler O'Neill (concussion) landed on the injured list. Rodriguez should serve as a reserve outfielder while up in the majors.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez hit .129 with zero home runs and 14 strikeouts (with nine walks) in 40 MLB plate appearances last year, but his success at Triple-A still makes him a notable rookie for potential fantasy value in 2025. He slashed .301/.390/.540 with 29 home runs, eight steals, a 25.2 percent strikeout rate, a 12.6 percent walk rate and a 34.3 percent hard-hit rate in 118 games as a 24-year-old repeating the International League. One positive takeaway from his brief time in the majors: Rodriguez's 76.2 mph average bat speed was an elite mark. Given his age and lack of impact foot speed, Rodriguez doesn't get much hype, but he could be a 25-homer right fielder if he were given the opportunity. He'll be competing with the likes of Will Brennan, Jhonkensy Noel and Kyle Manzardo for playing time, and while he'll likely open the year back at Triple-A, he could find his way into a significant role sometime this summer.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Promotion on horizon?
Rodriguez isn't in the lineup Wednesday for Triple-A Columbus after the Guardians announced that Lane Thomas is dealing with a foot injury, reports SI.com.
Analysis
Thomas has only been back a week after being on the injured list for a month due to a wrist issue, but he's now battling another injury. Rodriguez made his MLB debut last season and went 0-for-5 in four games, but he could receive another opportunity in the near future. Angel Martinez operated as Cleveland's primary center fielder during Thomas' first absence, but his .265/.288/.379 slash line may not be enough to retain a regular role.
