Joe Mack

Mack could be an above-average or better defensive catcher while hitting for above-average power, and he should spend the majority of 2026 in the majors. A rare success story among highly-drafted prep catchers -- the Marlins selected Mack with the No. 31 overall pick in 2021 -- Mack broke out as a power hitter at Double-A in 2024 and carried that success over at Triple-A in 2025. A lefty hitter who turns 23 this offseason, Mack slashed .250/.320/.459 with 18 home runs, eight steals, an 8.5 percent walk rate and a 27.9 percent strikeout rate in 99 games at Triple-A. Mack's success at the plate comes from his lift-and-pull approach, as he has steadily logged pull rates over 50 percent and groundball rates under 43 percent over the past two years, and his groundball rate was a career-best 36.6 percent last year. Mack is an aggressive hitter who is unlikely to hit for a decent batting average early in his big-league career, but he should provide enough value on defense and in the power department to play four or five days per week once he's up. Agustin Ramirez should continue to play regularly while getting most of his starts at designated hitter. Mack attempted one steal from 2021-2023 and attempted three steals in 2024 before attempting 12 steals in 2025.
