Shuster saw his first MLB work in 2023, making 11 starts and posting a 5.81 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with nearly a 1:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 52.2 innings pitched. The former first-round pick was sent to the White Sox in the offseason where he'll be given a chance to make the rotation out of Spring Training. Thought of as a high floor pitcher in the past, Shuster will need to recover from a down season in 2023 which also saw him post a 5.13 ERA with Triple-A Gwinnett. The left-hander will need to prove his worth to fantasy managers before being considered for much more than spot starts in 2024.

The big club will be without Max Fried and Kyle Wright due to forearm and shoulder injuries, respectively, for the next two-plus months, which should provide plenty of chances for Shuster to enter the rotation even if he's not called upon for Wednesday's contest.
