Dairon Blanco

32-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Kansas City Royals AAA
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Blanco made the Royals' Opening Day roster in 2025 but started the season on the IL due to an Achilles injury. He was activated in mid-May but appeared in just nine games for Kansas City before being optioned to Triple-A Omaha in early July, where he spent the rest of the season and slashed .253/.332/.405 with 32 steals, eight home runs and 26 RBI in 294 plate appearances. Blanco's speed is his greatest asset offensively, and his decent numbers at the plate gives him an outside chance of making the Opening Day roster for 2026, though it's more than likely that he starts the season in the minors. Should he get called up in 2026, Blanco's base running and solid numbers at the plate would give him some sneaky fantasy value, especially if there was a path to more consistent playing time in the majors. Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Royals designated Blanco for assignment Monday.
Analysis
The Royals needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Starling Marte, whose signing was officially announced Monday. Known for his blazing speed, Blanco has stolen 59 bases in the majors despite receiving only 285 plate appearances. The 32-year-old could draw interest on waivers from a team seeking outfield depth.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Blanco has made just 70 starts across the past seasons but now has 55 steals while primarily serving as a defensive replacement and pinch runner. His bat has actually been solid through 277 plate appearances in his MLB career with a .259/.318/.409 slash line, but most of that success has come against left-handed pitching with an .874 OPS. Blanco could fill a similar role for the Royals in 2025, though that production versus southpaws could help him get more platoon opportunities.
