2026 Fantasy Outlook
Casparius is becoming spoiled as a major leaguer because he has been in the league for two seasons and has a World Series ring for each hand. It's a nice consolation prize for working as a long man out of the bullpen, which is a thankless job and a rather useless one for fantasy purposes. Casparius squeezed 7 wins as well as 2 saves out of the role with a decent 15.0% K-BB% but ratios which could stand to be a bit better. You don't see many four-seam fastballs with 30% or better whiff rates, but Casparius was able to get that happening out of the bullpen with his big fastball while keeping hitters off balance with his breaking stuff and cutter. Four separate outings derailed his ERA - outings against the Astros, Royals, Twins and Chicago where he allowed 21 earned runs in 8.2 innings of work including 5 of his 8 homers on the season. He otherwise pitched to a 2.87 ERA in his other 42 outings. Casparius could work his way up the pecking order in the bullpen, but could use some type of offspeed pitch to stick in the rotation. Shelved by shoulder inflammation
The Dodgers placed Casparius on the 15-day injured list Monday with right shoulder inflammation, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Casparius allowed two runs on two hits and two walks Sunday against the Rangers, which was the third straight appearance he had been scored upon. The righty will be eligible to return near the end of April, but it's uncertain at this point whether he'll be ready on that date. Kyle Hurt is taking Casparius' spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Casparius has a pair of monster breaking balls and successfully navigated his first season pitching in the Pacific Coast League. The 25-year-old righty logged a 3.36 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 72:35 K:BB in 67 innings across 16 appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He has been consistently mediocre from a control standpoint, logging walk rates between 10.5 percent and 12.5 percent in his last eight professional assignments dating back to Single-A in 2021 and including his 8.1 innings in the majors in 2024. While his 95.6 mph fastball has good velocity, it was the one pitch big leaguers were able to handle, logging a .342 wOBA and .396 xwOBA against it. Even so, if just his command or fastball improved slightly, Casparius might be able to ride his slider and curveball to significant strikeout totals working as a big-league starter. The Dodgers helped Casparius get to this point, but their internal depth may also prevent him from getting many big-league starts in 2025. He's a nice trade chip for the Dodgers and a solid sleeper in dynasty and redraft leagues, even though there's still a chance he ends up a high-leverage reliever.
