2025 Fantasy Outlook
Casparius has a pair of monster breaking balls and successfully navigated his first season pitching in the Pacific Coast League. The 25-year-old righty logged a 3.36 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 72:35 K:BB in 67 innings across 16 appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He has been consistently mediocre from a control standpoint, logging walk rates between 10.5 percent and 12.5 percent in his last eight professional assignments dating back to Single-A in 2021 and including his 8.1 innings in the majors in 2024. While his 95.6 mph fastball has good velocity, it was the one pitch big leaguers were able to handle, logging a .342 wOBA and .396 xwOBA against it. Even so, if just his command or fastball improved slightly, Casparius might be able to ride his slider and curveball to significant strikeout totals working as a big-league starter. The Dodgers helped Casparius get to this point, but their internal depth may also prevent him from getting many big-league starts in 2025. He's a nice trade chip for the Dodgers and a solid sleeper in dynasty and redraft leagues, even though there's still a chance he ends up a high-leverage reliever. Read Past Outlooks

Expected to pitch Friday
Casparius is expected to pitch in some capacity Friday versus the Astros, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
Casparius last pitched Saturday against the Royals when he was tagged with a loss after giving up six runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings while operating as the bulk reliever behind Shohei Ohtani. It's unclear if Casparius will draw the start Friday or come out of the bullpen, but he'll look to get the sour taste out of his mouth from his last outing. The 26-year-old has posted a 3.97 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 54 punchouts over 25 appearances, including two starts, with the Dodgers in 2025.
