Sogard made his major-league debut in 2024 and appeared in 31 regular-season games for the Red Sox that year, but he wasn't able to improve on those numbers in 2025 as he spent the majority of his time with Triple-A Worcester. He put up solid numbers at the plate in Triple-A (.778 OPS with 16 steals, five homers and 28 RBI in 409 plate appearances) and translated that somewhat when called up by the parent club (.661 OPS with two steals and nine RBI in 104 major-league plate appearances). Sogard primarily played in the infield when he did suit up for Boston but showed off his versatility by playing three games at right field, and that utility will always make him a viable option to be recalled when the Red Sox are hit with an injury.
